No Ivy Day at Gateway Green -- October 27

As Portland Parks & Recreation continues to enhance the habitat in the wooded area at Gateway Green, they need our help to get the English ivy and other invasive plants under control, and keep them under control—giving the more desirable plants a chance to get established.

Join Friends of Gateway Green (FoGG) on Saturday, October 27, 9 am to Noon. We’ll provide the tools you need, and snacks.

For more information, visit PP&R’s No Ivy Day website.

Are dogs allowed at Gateway Green?

We’ve gotten several inquiries this month, asking if dogs are allowed at Gateway Green.

Yes, dogs are allowed—but they MUST be on leash at all times.

The park is used by many families with young children. Many of the children are novice bike riders. If dogs are not leashed, there is very real danger that your dog might get a hurt. And a child might get hurt trying to avoid running into your dog.

And, of course, you are expected to pick up after your dog.
