Enjoy Gateway Green -- on a bike, or on foot

A reminder that motorized vehicles are prohibited in Gateway Green, Portland’s unique off-road cycling and hiking destination.

In addition, park users are now allowed to park in the SW corner of the Gateway Fred Meyer parking lot (the section closest to the Gateway Transit Center), in addition to onstreet parking in the area around the Transit Center.

Are dogs allowed at Gateway Green?

We’ve gotten several inquiries this month, asking if dogs are allowed at Gateway Green.

Yes, dogs are allowed—but they MUST be on leash at all times.

The park is used by many families with young children. Many of the children are novice bike riders. If dogs are not leashed, there is very real danger that your dog might get a hurt. And a child might get hurt trying to avoid running into your dog.

And, of course, you are expected to pick up after your dog.

Planting Event at Gateway Green Canceled -- and Rescheduled

We have reluctantly canceled today’s Planting Event at Gateway Green—due to safety concerns for volunteers using the I-205 MUP to get to the park.

The event has been rescheduled on Saturday, February 24 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm—right after the Gateway Green Open House. It’s essential that we get these bare-root native plants into the ground before the end of the month.

We hope you will join us for both the Open House and the planting event.
