Earth Day Event 2024

EARTH DAY AT GATEWAY GREEN Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 9:45 am to noon Help get the park ready for the busy warm weather season. Join in our Earth Day clean-up event at Gateway Green. Monthly Stewardship Day at Gateway Green

Volunteers will gather—from 10:00 am to noon on the first Saturday of each month—for a stewardship work party at Gateway Green. Most of these work days will focus on clean-up at the park, but some months will be devoted to invasive species control, planting, or other stewardship activities. Gloves and hand tools will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Light snacks will also be available. 10th Anniversary Celebration - Tuesday April 16

Friends of Gateway Green (FoGG) is turning ten. Join us for a celebration at Hopworks Urbany Brewery (SE Powell location), 5 to 9 pm, Tuesday, April 16.

There’ll be a new video to share, a slide show of images taken over the past ten years. There will also be some new design boards related to Phase 2 construction that will start later this year.

This is also a Community Tap event, with Hopworks contirbuting $1 to FoGG for every pint sold that evening.

This is a family-friendly event.

Gateway Green Cleanup - April 27, 2019

Join us at Gateway Green for litter removal and invasive species removal at Gateway Green, East Portland’s newest park and the city’s premiere public off-road cycling park.   We’ll also be working on our adopted segment of the I-205 Multi-Use Path, between Gateway Green and Gateway Transit Center. Gateway Green Cleanup -- September 29

Friends of Gateway Green (FoGG) will be working with SOLVE and Portland Parks & Recreation, on Saturday, September 29 (10 am to 1 pm) to do another clean-up at Gateway Green—in the park, and along the I-205 multi-use path that takes you to the park.

No Ivy Day at Gateway Green -- October 27

As Portland Parks & Recreation continues to enhance the habitat in the wooded area at Gateway Green, they need our help to get the English ivy and other invasive plants under control, and keep them under control—giving the more desirable plants a chance to get established.

Join Friends of Gateway Green (FoGG) on Saturday, October 27, 9 am to Noon. We’ll provide the tools you need, and snacks.
