Gathering at Gateway Green -Featuring the Dirt Lab- presented by TriMet

Mark your calendars for the Gathering at Gateway Green - featuring the Dirt Lab - presented by TriMet  a celebration of the first completed phase of the park on June 24, 2017, 11am-4pm.  The event will highlight the new off-road cycling trails and skills course.

 

Join us for a fun day filled with food, music, nature crafts, games, exhibitions, and more! Meet local organizations and businesses and connect with others from the community at the many booths and activities around the park.

 

Be the first to try out the new bike trails available for beginner, intermediate, and advanced riders! There will be plenty of activities for the non-bikers too. Check out the children’s free play area and obstacle course, or give slacklining a try.

 

Some of the confirmed activities for the day include two fun-loving clowns, a children’s puppet show, a local folk band, a reggae drum circle, a scavenger hunt with prizes, bike demonstrations, delicious food, and sweet treats. You can even take a class on making baskets from English ivy vines (pre-registration required) or attend a tree walk to learn about the diverse species at Gateway Green! We hope to see you there!

 

Volunteers needed!
Are you interested in helping make this event a success? We are seeking volunteers to help with a variety of tasks throughout the day. We’re in need of greeters in the morning, assistance setting up and breaking down, bike valet volunteers, and more! We could also use the support of those with cargo bikes or bikes with trailers to help transport materials before and after the event. Please check out our volunteer opportunies here!
