Bill is currently the neighborhood planner at Central Northeast Neighbors Coalition. He has lived in Portland since 1974 and has over 30 years of experience in land use and transportation planning. He holds an MS in Geography from Portland State University (PSU). As the regional bicycle planner at Metro, he produced a number of editions of the Metro "Bike There!" map and helped plan and implement a number of regional bicycle projects, including the Springwater Trail and the soon to beopen bike and pedestrian lane on the Morrison Bridge. Bill has served as a Board member locally with the Community Cycling Center and nationally with the Association of Bicycle and Pedestrian Professionals. He has been nominated for a Bicycle Transportation Alliance "Alice B. ToeClips" award. At Central Northeast Neighbors Bill helped keep the Colwood Golf Course as open space and has worked to encourage neighborhood scale development along NE 82nd Avenue. Bill enjoys biking, walking his dogs, driving his smart car, and hanging out on North Mississippi Avenue.
